Poem by: Holly
Unaccepted LoveBR>

The love is no longer in his eyes, his voice, his touch.
Where is it, who has it, why did it have to go?
Space, time, and distance grow with each breath he takes.

Injured promises and wounded dreams struggle to mend with disbelief.
What was once half of a friendship is now deceased.
Sorrow swallows me for my friend that is lifeless.

Sentenced to a slow death of solitude by the one I love.
Like the addict or bum – I’m found unworthy of effort.
Rejected and tangled up in a web of resentment.

Longing for something real – something true in this world of illusions.
Only the truth will survive, but half of “us” is dying.
Powerless to salvage his desire to go on.

Faith in Happily Ever After is now an unwilling partaker of THE END.
Shivers from the thought of him accepting a different love.
Unaccepted Love weeps for the one who loves no more.
